Intuitive Cycle Syncing is basically like going on vacation
Hear me out: Syncing your menstrual cycle is basically like going on vacation.
EVERYONE knows… about pre- vacation prep!
Your appointments are BOOKED. During this time you’re running around pampering yourself with fresh nails, hair, eyebrows, lashes, and waxing every single last hair on your body.
You’re meticulously planning your itinerary. Frantically looking up all the locations on insta to get a realistic idea of what to expect. You might not feel your best in the moment, but you're resting and putting in the self care you need so that when you finally reach vacation mode, you feel unstoppable!
When it comes to syncing your menstrual cycle, I like to compare pre - vacation prep to the late luteal phase -> menstrual phase.
Then your follicular -> ovulatory phase comes around. THIS is the vacation. I mean, ovulation is your inner summer, after all. During this phase you’re filled with new exciting energy! You’re feeling ready to explore new places and create new memories. You’re surrounded by strangers, friends/ family.
This is probably the highest your social battery has been all month - and you’re not mad about it. You’re looking your hottest, flirting with everyone who has a pulse, and slaying in every insta post because you spent the past 2 weeks preparing for this trip!
Then BOOM.
Just like during your early luteal phase, your vacation (ovulation) comes to an end, and you return home.
You might feel a bit low, emo almost. You may even find yourself missing the energy and excitement of your time away. But that's totally okay!!! Because it's time to reflect on all the incredible experiences you had and learn from them. It's like unpacking and settling back into your routine, with a dash of nostalgia and planning for your next vacation.
In the same way, this is the ebb and flow of having a menstrual cycle.
For some, the thrill lies in the preparation, relishing every moment leading up to the vacation.
Others might find the vacation itself to be the highlight, embracing the energy and joy it brings.
And then there are those who appreciate the process of returning home, finding solace in the familiarity and eagerly planning their next adventure.
So whether you enjoy the anticipation, the actual experience, or the transition back to your routine, understanding this perspective on your menstrual cycle can truly elevate your journey.
Hopefully this perspective empowers and inspires you on your cycle syncing adventure!
